Abstract
This study analyzed survey data collected from three firms in the Changwon Industrial Complex in Gyeongnam Province to investigate the causal relationships between several dimensions of job alienation and dimensions of job-related behavioral intentions. The data were collected through questionnaire surveys administered to 697 employees performing simple functional tasks at the three firms, and the causal relationships were estimated using the LISREL analytical procedure. The results suggest that different dimensions of job alienation tend to have differential effects on transfer/turnover behavioral intentions and work negligence behavioral intentions. Furthermore, contrary to expectations, the results show that growth needs, social needs, and dimensions of job alienation do not have clear causal relationships with labor dispute behavioral intentions.
