Abstract

This study surveyed and analyzed the utilization status, operational status, obstacles in usage, and plans for promoting information systemization among domestic firms that have adopted and are utilizing management information systems, and presented managerial measures for enhancing efficiency to promote greater utilization and advancement of information systems. Accordingly, in this study, to analyze the operational status of corporate information systems, data were collected through a survey method across a wide range of areas including the motivation for adopting information systems in Korean firms, the current status of computer system ownership, the scope and level of information system utilization in business operations, and the operational status of IT departments. Based on the collected data and literature research, obstacles to information system utilization were identified, and various measures were presented to enhance the efficiency of information system utilization by eliminating these obstacles.
