Abstract
This study aims to identify the relative position of the Jeonbuk regional economy by comparatively analyzing economic growth patterns and the structural trends of the Jeonbuk regional economy, to elucidate the constraining factors apparent in the regional economic structure and the growth potential indicating possibilities for change, and thereby to promote more rapid development of the Jeonbuk regional economy. To promote economic growth in the Jeonbuk region, it is considered that by improving the regional economic structure through active efforts such as promoting industrialization in the Jeonbuk region, improving the industrial structure, expanding the employment base, and making bold investments in social overhead capital, regional economic growth can be promoted while simultaneously reducing regional disparities and securing a balanced spatial order for the national territory. Furthermore, the fundamental direction for improvement is believed to lie in the proactive development will of Jeonbuk regional residents taking precedence, along with the improvement of the regional economic structure in harmony with the national regional development policy.
