Abstract

As team creativity has been increasingly emphasized as a source of organizational performance improvement and innovation, research on the factors influencing team creativity has been actively conducted. This paper analyzes how the diversity of team members' knowledge levels and network structure—specifically degree centrality and structural holes—affect team creativity over time, using agent-based modeling techniques. The analysis confirmed that both individual knowledge level diversity and network structure have significant effects on team creativity. However, from a long-term perspective over time, different patterns were observed depending on the network structure. Through this, it was confirmed that from a long-term perspective, a team's network structure has a greater influence on the level of team creativity than the diversity of individual knowledge levels.
