Abstract
SKMS (SK Management System) is a knowledge platform for Korean-style management that SK Group has compiled over a considerable period of time by consolidating management knowledge and continuously revising and developing it for smooth intra-organizational communication. However, for the more effective utilization of this knowledge platform, which has been accumulated and utilized through the will of top management, understanding and active participation by organizational members, as well as practical application to work tasks, are essential. Therefore, this study, grounded in knowledge-based theory (Grant, 1996a; b), adaptive structuration theory (DeSanctis and Poole, 1994), and assimilation theory (Purvis et al., 2001), proposed a research model defining five factors—management championship, knowledge internalization, team internal environment, organizational environment, and task characteristics—as antecedent factors influencing the utilization of SKMS, which has served as an important knowledge platform for SK Group, and two factors—employee organizational attachment and team performance—as outcome variables, and sought to empirically verify this model through a survey method. After collecting and analyzing data through a survey targeting all team leaders at major SK Group companies, all hypotheses in this study were found to be statistically significant, with the exception of the effect of SK organizational environment on SKMS utilization.
