This paper aims to systematize technology valuation techniques and to suggest directions for future research on related methodologies. Technology valuation techniques developed in academia and practice were reviewed, and management science techniques for measuring the importance of valuation factors were presented. Furthermore, to explore the feasibility of introducing real options techniques—which are recommended in foreign academic circles as a rational alternative for R&D project evaluation—scenarios for venture firm valuation and technology valuation were developed, and directions for future research on valuation techniques were proposed.
