Abstract
The investment in new information technology(IT) is a key decision for both managers and highly skilled knowledge workers. Therefore, it is crucial that insight about the bases for this decision is forthcoming in IS research. Fortunately, robust theoretical frameworks for the rational component of IT adoption have emerged within ten years. These frame-works provide managers with careful reasoning arguments and enable them to better influence the evaluation, adoption and usage processes. Yet from a conceptual standpoint, few empirical studies have made a distinction between individuals` pre-adoption and post-adoption(continued use) beliefs and attitudes. This distinction is crucial in understanding and managing this process over time. The objective of this study is to examine the relative influence of motivators identified in the previous literature chronologically. The results indicated that the influence of the motivative factors was the relatively significant at the pre-adoption stage than the post-adoption.
