Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing the informatization characteristics of regional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by collecting and analyzing data from SMEs located in regional areas to determine how appropriately informatization is being pursued according to organizational and implementation characteristics, and to assess the magnitude of barriers encountered. The study also aims to clarify whether implementation appropriateness and the degree of barriers affect performance outcomes. To this end, this study examines whether there are differences in informatization implementation appropriateness, degree of barriers, and performance depending on organizational and implementation characteristics, and seeks to determine how much implementation appropriateness and the degree of barriers influence performance. Based on these results, the study identifies and presents informatization characteristics, implementation appropriateness factors, and barrier factors that can maximize performance outcomes. The significance of this study lies in the potential for regional SMEs, which are currently facing difficulties, to activate informatization to survive and further enhance their competitiveness.
