Abstract
While Korean firms recognize the importance of logistics rationalization, in most cases their efforts remain at a superficial level. Therefore, research on logistics system innovation from a comprehensive and consistent perspective, which is necessary for firms to maintain international competitiveness, is urgently needed. In this paper, we systematically organize the efforts to develop practical models for logistics decision support in the order of partial rationalization models, integrated rationalization models, and international logistics rationalization models. Next, we analyze the strengths and weaknesses of existing models in light of the desirable characteristics that logistics models should possess, and based on this analysis, we suggest future directions for model development efforts.
