Abstract

Smart tourism content helps cities build resilience by creating economic, social and public value. Seoul, one of the leading smart tourism cities, has increasingly recognized the economic importance of smart tourism content, and in doing so, has carried out numerous investment projects from 2019 to 2023. This study aims to evaluate the economic effect of these projects for the remaining two years from 2022 to 2023. For that, we updated 2015 input-output table and made 2020 regional input-output table of Seoul adopting RAS method and location quotient method. As a result, the investment of 10.5 billion KRW for two years is expected to create more than 17.5 billion KRW of production inducement effect which is expected to create more than 14.6 billion KRW of income-inducing effects, about 5.7 billion KRW of value-added-inducing effects, about 7 billion KRW of indirect tax-inducing effects and 157 employment across all industries in Seoul.
